CAPA PREPARES FOR OUR ANNUAL YOUTH LEADERSHP SUMMIT

On Saturdays, October 5, 12 & 26, 2019, 9 am – 12 pm, the Council of Asian Pacific Americans (CAPA) will host the “Youth Leadership Program 2019” at the Macomb Intermediate School District, located at 44001 Garfield Road, Clinton Township, MI 48038. CAPA (www.capa-mi.org) brings Asian Pacific Americans together with the community at large through our cultural, educational and community services.

The goal will be focusing on the following:

To provide middle and high school students the opportunity to explore different fields of leadership

To offer middle and high school students information about various career paths

To encourage middle and high school students to become independent thinkers as future leaders

The event will feature:

Career Cruising – providing an opportunity for students to meet with professionals from different career fields.

Global Leadership – offering students strategies to become future global leaders

Youth Mentoring – supporting students through peer mentorship

Admission is $25 for CAPA Member participants and $35 for Non-member participants. Registration is open to Middle School and High School Students

CAPA'S ASIAN FESTIVAL 2019 A HUGE SUCCESS!

Michigan's Council of Asian Pacific Americans would like to thank all the volunteers and attendees that made our annual celebration of Asian-Pacific heritage a huge success. The Madison Place events space was fill with thousands of visitors who enjoyed the full day of performances, contests, food and crafts. This year's signature event was the biggest Asian Festival in CAPA history thanks to the support of our Michigan community and partner organizations.


THE DETROIT CHINA FESTIVAL IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER

Detroit Chinatown Group presents the Detroit-China Festival, taking place at Hart Plaza, Downtown Detroit on September 21st and featuring Authentic Chinese food, live music and entertainment.


Detroit Chinatown Group is proud to bring the Detroit-China festival to Hart Plaza, downtown Detroit for the first time. The Detroit-China Festival serves as a cross-cultural celebration with local authentic Chinese Food, local entertainment and this year, China’s longest running hip-hop battle show ‘Iron Mic’ is coming to Detroit.


Tickets are $10 on-line and $15 at the gate; online tickets can be purchased at Eventbrite. All tickets include entry to the festival and the show. Food tickets will be purchased separately.

“The largest Asian themed event in Detroit history is less than a month away! Let's eat some delicious food, hear some good music and celebrate culture and unity together in the D on 9/21!” says Joshua Chiatovich who, along with partners Jeff Li and Paul Gaines, are organizing the event.
